
Applications for The CALA Advanced Leadership Programme are Open
The Centre for African Leaders in Agriculture (CALA) is inviting applicants for their first Advanced Leadership Programme. The Centre for African Leaders in Agriculture (CALA) is an initiative led by the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) to support country sector leaders in delivering inclusive agriculture transformation across Africa. CALA was launched in collaboration with implementing partners, the African Management Institute (AMI) and USAID’s Policy LINK. AMI, the leading learning partner, is one of the continent’s most active providers of leadership and business management programmes and will offer training modules using a web-based learning platform as part of the programme. Policy LINK works to support critical elements of agriculture sector capacity building and will support with programme implementation.
The highly selective Advanced Leadership Programme is focused on advancing collaborative leadership for capacity to drive Africa’s food security and sustainability efforts. Over the first three years, the programme will train a total of 160 participants divided in two cohorts with each approximately having 80 leaders.
How will the successful applicants benefit?
During a 16-month course, leaders enrolled in the programme will receive the following benefits:
- Interactive sessions with expert trainers in advanced leadership, collaboration, and management
- Knowledge to better drive and deliver on national agricultural transformation initiatives
- Unlimited access to 50+ learning modules/courses (and 3,000+ tools) with additional certificates from AMI
- Networking and inclusion in a prestigious cohort of top agriculture leaders and peers from across Africa
- Results-oriented leadership models and management skills that can be applied for effective delivery
Who is eligible to apply?
Applicants must be;
- Established or emerging leaders working in government, private firms and associations, or civil society organizations responsible for driving agriculture flagships and priority programs.
- Actively employed or working in government (public sector), private sector and civil society (associations or civil society organizations).
- From any of the following countries: Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda.
NB: Special consideration will be given to women leaders and individuals working to advance agro ecological practices.
