Stanbic Business Incubator Limited (SBIL) and The Federation of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises-Uganda (FSME-Uganda) have entered into a partnership to facilitate SME participation in the Oil and Gas sector. Launched 14 April, the partnership will focus on capacity building and training on national content and other key topics to equip SMEs with the knowledge they need to take advantage of the many emerging opportunities in the sector. The partners will also work together to facilitate information sharing with interested businesses and provide advisory services related to access to finance.

According to Mr. Tony Otoa, Chief Executive of SBIL, and Mr. John Kakungulu Walugembe, Executive Director of FSME, the partnership will enable FSME’s members across the country to tap into the experience both organizations have in the Oil and Gas industry and increase SMEs’ opportunities to engage in different components of the value chain.

The initial activities for FMSE-Uganda will include; MSME mapping, recruitment Startups, and sharing information on business opportunities. While SBIL will focus on resource mobilization to facilitate incubation activities, provision of specialized expert training and network. FSME-Uganda members will be given priority to participate in the planned activities.
